Our Story

Two brothers, one Youniverse.

Mahesh Nishar and Amit Nishar began with a small retail clothing shop in Kalyan. They expanded that foundation into three retail shops across Thane and Kalyan.

In 2015, the brothers began their own clothing manufacturing in a small space in Vikhroli, building both the production operation and the Youniverse brand from the ground up.

From Diwali 2025, Youniverse moved into a new, larger space in Dadar — the next chapter for a family business built on fabric, fit and original expression.

Why We Still Hand-Paint Every Shirt

No two Youniverse shirts are ever quite the same — and that's on purpose.

Every Youniverse print starts as a brush, not a machine. Before a shirt is cut, the fabric is laid flat across a workbench in our Dadar workshop and painted panel by panel — a butterfly here, a Warli dancer there, a line-drawn face on a sleeve. It's slower than screen printing, and it means every batch has small, honest variations. We've kept it this way since 2015 because it's the whole point of the label. So if your Youniverse shirt looks a little different from the one in the shop photo, that's not a defect. That's the brushstroke.

Wide-Leg, Zero Off-Cuts

Our patchwork denim isn't a trend print — it's what's left over from everything else we cut.

Every Youniverse patchwork jean starts as offcuts — leftover denim sorted by wash and weight, then pieced back together into a single wide leg before it's painted or embroidered. It's more work than cutting a pair from a single bolt, but very little denim leaves our workshop as waste. We'd rather piece it together than throw it out.
